The Grand Mosque
— The
black domes of the Grand Baiturrachman Mosque rise
above Banda Acheh, the capital of the special
region of Acheh. Initially this building, an Italian
architecture, was build by Dutch for the Muslims during the war,
which was in the late 19th century and expanded again in
the mid-20th century, and it has
been expanded for three times, in 1994, since the Dutch left. Now, this building became the
most beautiful Mosque in South East Asia. About 96 percent of Achenese people are
Muslims. |
