There’s an immense difference in social class in Acheh as was seen in Cambodia. Battle has been taking place, especially in the local districts, forcing the farmers to lean an even more rugged life than before. There are many brothels in the capital city, Banda Acheh. One day, I visited a woman with an Acheh friend who worked in one of them. Seven or eight people were at the brothel in the gloomy premises. “I’m a journalist. I’d like to hear your story.” “Come to my room if you want to take photos.” The woman offered, and explained that she was originally from East Acheh.
“I came to the capital because my family back home needs the money. But I couldn’t find any jobs. So I had to sell myself to make money.” She said.
While I was taking her photos, she began writing a letter in a small notebook. It was a letter to her family back home.
