Evil Creed on a School Wall —— A school destroyed by the TNI. The girl used to study there. There was a message written on the wall by a soldier.
“We RAJAWARI (Indonesian Special Forces) will never surrender.”

“How many schools have been burned down in Acheh?” “We only know the number of cases which took place as of last night. But we’re not sure of the exact number including the schools set on fire this morning.” A local NGO staff member replied. Schools, civilian residences and even courthouses disappear overnight here in Acheh. They are set on fire and burns to ashes by the morning. When I ask my friends about the possible culprits, they always respond, “It was done by a person with no name.”

When I went to East Acheh, a local villager said, “The village primary school was set on fire by an unidentified person in September. TNI announced that it was done by the GAM but how can we burn down the very school where our children study?”

Children can not study without a school. A young female teacher pleaded “Please do something to stop the attacks by the TNI. That’s what I hope for more than receiving aid relieves.”
