| I was very impressed by what I saw in a NGO office.
There were pictures in crayon drawn by children who had become refugees in various parts of Acheh. Hundreds of pictures of soldiers and machine guns as well as burning houses and buildings, were drawn. According to the volunteering staff, they did not force the children to draw certain images but left it up to them.
The pictures described exactly what the children had seen and undergone. Even an adult could not possibly endure battlefields where bombshells explode and guns rattle.
The children who have drawn these images still cannot go back home. |
