Two AGAM personnel, who
retreating to their base camp because of Moratorium on
Violence has started, were ambushed by RI joint forces that
were already waiting for them midway to GAM HQ. In this no
contest action, the two were arrested and shot dead. Two
pieces of guns and 7 12.7 Remington bullets were confiscated
by the Indonesians. One gun was home made and the other one
was FN pistol.

In a sweep operation in the
village, the victims:
- M. Ali, 18, male, resident
of Matang Seulemak, Nurussalam
- Jumiah, 30, female,
resident of Matang Seulemak, Nurussalam
- Mukhlis Yusuf, 35, male,
resident of Seuleumak Muda, Bagok
Were severely tortured when
interrogated in situ by Brimob. The reason for torture
was that the victims were unable to give satisfactory answers
about GAM whereabouts.

A dead body was found in the
village. The victim was decapitated and mutilated. The victim,
after being identified by his own family, was Mahmuddin Ali,
24, males, resident of Jeumpa vlg. He was arrested by RI joint
forces in a sweep operation in Gunong Putoh vlg, Idi Rayeuk on
Friday, Jan. 12th 2001.

The army launched a dawn raid
to the village in which 3 villagers were unlawfully arrested.
The victims:

Victims # 1 and 2 have been
released in the afternoon. Victim # 3 was still detained.
In the raid, the army also
burned at least 3 houses. The owners of the houses:
- Tgk. Din
- Bang Ucok
- Syarifah (widowed)

The joint forces entered the
villages. The Indonesian came house to house. They forced
people to sign up a statement that says the community all
agree on the placement of troops in the villages. The troops
threatened people if they refused to sign then they would be
listed in search list labeled GAM.

the houses, the Brimob robbed one unit of boring machine
belongs to Geusyik Idrus. The owner was accused being GAM
