'..Employees

 CCORDING
TO Waspada, 11 August 2001,
while the security forces continue to give contradictory
versions about who was responsible for the terrible massacre
on Thursday when more than 40 people were shot dead, the
local people say that the employees at the plantation who
were slain had refused to take part in a loyalty-oath
ceremony on the orders of the security forces. They were
mown down the following day. Among the dead were a child
aged two years six months and a woman.
