Single hit, major casualty On 14 Nov. 2001, there were big gathering at army hq at Jungka Gajah Meurah Mulia, North Acheh. TNI from several posts gathered there after conducting milops. They did not return to their respective posts because flood (due to heavy rain) has put the posts submerged. At 1900 hours local time, at the dusk, a group of 4 AGAM launched one home-made rocket (modification of RPG-7 round) towards the TNI gathering at the army hq (Koramil) Jungka Gajah. Direct hit has flattened a half of the hq and sent the roof afloat in the sky. Apparently, the rocket has subsequently detonated a bomb (maybe seized bomb) in the hq. Two big explosions were heard. One from the rocket and the other from the bomb. TNI denied this attack, but paramedics informed us at least 18 personnel confirmed dead and 26 others were critically injured. The deads were later evacuated to Kruenggeukuh port, while some of the injureds were rescued to Medan by choppers.

There were also some clashes throughout Acheh in which a total of 3 AGAM personnel were killed. In these fights the casualty on TNI side were usually higher although they never admit it; when they did, it was usually underreported.

A blow from AGAM. Several batches of TNI gathered at the post after returning from op. AGAM launched a single RPG-7 and exploded in the mid of the TNI crowd and also detonated a seized bomb

On Meugang day, a day before entering Ramadhan, when many Achenese slaughter livestock and sell them to markets, a platoon of TNI ran amock in the market and beat 4 people to disperse other merchants. All meat sellers as well as customers dispersed away for safety. The TNI took the opportunity to loot everything left. When the merchants came back to the location at 1300 hours, only a few meat left. Approx loss Rp 55,000,000
